IC INFORMATION
Character Name: Szelhamos
Species: Demon (Fallen Seraph)
Canon: Original
Canon Point: Just returned back to Hell with an angelic escort after slithering out again to harass a human who he dumped a book of Eldritch gods on years ago for reasons.
Character Age: Fucking Ancient, to a frankly embarrassing degree.
CRAU: No
Character Appearance: Here and here
Powers and Abilities: Poison Blood/saliva: With his blood powerful enough to kill a man, he's fully weaponized it. He's not afraid to cut himself and spray it if he has to, and has no shame of biting like an animal, though these two things really only happen if he feels he has no other routes of attack. The toxins in his blood can even potentially damage the soul of the victim, though for some reason or another he absolutely refuses to actually utilize this regardless of the situation.
Demonic Shape: As a ten foot tall, mutilated spider-taur. The fallen seraph is never shown intentionally. This form sports higher defense but lower mobility due to the sheer size of it.
Transformation: Aside from his demonic shape, Szel can take the form of small animals, typically either a black cat or a brown recluse spider. Can he assume more shapes? Maybe! Will he? That's work, and work is a four letter word. (No)
Lance: Attached to his demonic shape and only capable of being used while a demon, Szel's lance is connected to his arm by a long, black, external artery. Attacking this artery will cause him to lose blood rapidly and weaken him, but of course that leaves the issue of really fucking poisonous blood everywhere. The lance can be used to inject his attackers or victim with small to large amounts of poison.
Nails: Like his lance, his fingers can shift and form into needles themselves, where the concoctions he creates can be administered. These hellish doses are what he delivers his demonic gifts with, either causing a drug fueled high, or inciting strength or speed beyond what most humans could fathom. However, they are all highly addictive, and it's deeply suggested one does not attempt to actually obtain any of these chemicals.
Insect Communication: From the tiniest mosquito to the biggest ugliest spider, Szel can chat it up with any amount of insects and command them. Thing is insects and bugs are stupid AF, so he's kind of relying on them to get the basic idea and generally listen to him. Hell bugs are a lot smarter after all.
Insect Transformation: Bugs get boosted. Yes just bugs, it's only bugs. He can gift said bugs with increased size and intelligence. This lasts as long as the bug lives, or as long as Szel decides to allow it.
Drugged Breath: Szel can exhale a sweet, highly narcotic smoke, akin to opium. It's highly addictive, and the effects mimic a powerful dose of morphine.
Item creation: Small things, mostly. Think of a corgi. Yeah, about that big, sometimes bigger if he's feeling adventurous. He primarily uses this ability to be a stupid prick.
Teleportation: Well yes. In a big flashy puff of smoke, no less, subtlety is for nerds. Nerf: Teleportation is nerfed to a few dozen feet.
Midge: Midge is his familiar, and functions as his eyes. Without him, Szel is entirely blind. Midge himself can shift between multiple shapes, mostly small animals for ease of transport since it's really freaky to see a three foot long lightning bug/cockroach mix just wandering around. Midge also has a battle mode, transforming into a gigantic winged centipede. NERF: Szel and Midge cannot both be transformed at the same time.

Character Questions:
1. Who is the person your character is most bonded with from their canon, or who is someone they miss the most and why?
Morpheus, the seraph of dreams, was killed by his hand during the rebellion that threw both himself and Lucifer into Hell. There is nothing he regrets more than this action, as she was his closest, if not only friend. Created by Azrael to act as a companion to heaven's youngest seraph, she was as a sister to him, the only being in all of creation that seemed to at least try to connect with and understand Szel, at that time Levanael, prior to his fall. Lucifer saw an opportunity to make a grab for power in Levanael, and slowly over time isolated and alienated his naive colleague until Levanael felt as if he could trust only him. It was easy after that to convince him to find a method of killing a seraph, as the young celestial always had a knack for research and ingenuity. Up until the moment he attacked her, Levanael had no concept of what death was, never truly believing it would even be possible to destroy another seraph.
He misses her dearly, and hates himself for what he did to her.
2. What are they most afraid of and why?
Szel fears the loss of control over himself. With his grip on his own emotions being as tenuous as it is, and with the way the fall from heaven has both blinded and grounded him, he already feels as if his life is out of control, and he works hard to try and maintain an iron grip over the things he believes he can control. He's already experienced a complete and total loss of autonomy once, and any threat of it happening again can trigger a violent response.
3. What are their emotional, mental, and physical weaknesses and why?
Emotional- Szel has no emotional regulation, and is easily manipulated because of this. He doesn't seem to always know when or why he's experiencing a feeling, and often can't put his finger on exactly what sort of emotion he's experiencing at that moment, which often turns that emotion into anger and frustration regardless of whatever it was prior. None of this is really a surprise; seraphs are not supposed to experience the full spectrum of human emotion, and no one was able to teach him anything about them, let alone how to control them or even what they are.
Mental- Szel is at odds at all times with what he wants to be, and what he wants to look like. In all honesty, deep down he'd be far happier with things like friends or a family, and it often becomes clear that he's not comfortable nor happy with how he's behaving, as if he feels an obligation to act the way that he does rather than it being genuine. He'll often show indications of low confidence and insecurity, getting ahead of himself in conversation or arguments and letting slip things he really ought not to have.
Physical- Holy objects burn him, as is to be expected. He can take one hell of a beating without the use of holy objects otherwise, as all of the organic material in his body is unnecessary baggage that contain nothing of actual importance.
4. What discrepancies are there between their inner self (who they feel they are) and their outer self (how they present themselves to others)?
Inwardly, Szel feels weak and small. He views himself as Never Enough: never quite smart enough, never quite powerful enough, never talented or charming or charismatic enough for any given situation ever. He hides this beneath a fake and flashy show of over the top self confidence and arrogance, layering real concerns and fears beneath sarcasm and cynical commentary.
5. What would make them happiest and why?
While he personally wouldn't be able to answer this question, what would make him truly happy would be to not be alone. To have his words and thoughts matter to someone, even if it was only just a single person. Being able to trust someone implicitly without fear that his weaknesses and failures will be used against him later, and in turn be able to do the same for someone else and never have to fear that he might need to harm them later.
6. What characteristics does someone need to have to be your character's ideal significant other?
Szel for the most part doesn't experience romantic love. It isn't impossible, but it's far from something he considers or strives for. His ideal platonic partner would be someone able to empathize with him, who has fucked up like he has, who has regrets almost too great to mention but who wants to do better. They'd need to have a sense of humor, maybe even a little bit of a mean streak at times, but who still has the ability and desire to be kind. The last thing he wants from someone who he wants to see as an equal is perfection.
7. Would your character make a sacrifice to save someone else and why or why not?
He would and has, though granted these days it's a lot more difficult to reach that side of him. Szel has already made sacrifices for the sake of another though: Upon falling into Hell, he brought with him his one and only living creation, Midge. Unlike the powerful fallen angels under Lucifer's command, the lesser angel was delicate and frail, and couldn't long tolerate the corrupting energies of Hell. It was only a matter of time before Szel's only companion began to rapidly deteriorate, and without immediate action would surely crumble away into nothing. Szel, lacking the skill and knowledge on how to fortify his companion, went the direct route in sharing his own wealth of power with them, removing his own eyes to incorporate into the dying creature and infusing them with a fraction of his own essence.
These days, Szel would just as soon prefer not to get into emotional entanglements and goes out of his way to try not to get attached to anyone. Being self-sacrificing isn't exactly 'demonic', and since it doesn't fit his current self image he almost goes out of his way to avoid any suggestion that he gives a shit about anyone other than himself. That being said he would still absolutely wreck himself for someone he's become attached to, even if he'd lie about why he's doing it.
8. What is one thing they would tell their younger self if they had the chance, or if your character is young, what is one thing they would want their older self to remember?
Szel has made a lot of mistakes in his life, and while he'd like to go down through the list and read off all the things he'd never want his younger self to try, if forced to pick only one he'd go with the first one he ever made: Do not trust Lucifer. Even if it means feeling like he's all alone, sitting with the feeling that no one cares about him. The promise of finally feeling welcome and loved is a lie, he'd have been better off clinging to the pantomime of friendship that Azrael attempted to give him than reach for anything better; there isn't anything there to reach for.
9. When in dire circumstances does your character fight, flee, freeze or fawn and how does that look?
It's flee, until there's nowhere left to go. Szel has no confidence in himself, and doesn't enjoy fighting even if the odds are tilted in his favor. Far from being a coward, it's more along the lines of genuinely disliking direct combat, and he relies heavily on looking scary or sounding scary to do the actual work for him. After all, every time he's ever had to fight, it's been because he found himself in the most wretched of circumstances, whether it be to survive in Hell or being tricked into killing his only friend. This changes however if he feels backed into a corner, or if he feels there's something actually worth holding ground over. If in the case that he's finally forced to fight, he holds nothing back and doesn't stop until the threat has been eliminated in its entirety, often ignoring surrender and desperate pleas for mercy. Nobody is to be trusted after all, and a dead opponent can never come back to hurt you.
10. Why did your character make the wish they did?
Because it's all he wants. In his mind, even if he never leaves Hell again and never returns to heaven, he'll have undone the greatest mistake he ever made in his life. He stole someone's life from them, took away their ability to decide anything, ever again, and if Morpheus came back whole and alive then there would no longer be that empty hole sitting in his soul in the shape of her. It wouldn't matter if she hated him and refused to forgive him, at the very least he would have been able to do something right for someone.
